Business Challenges
The healthcare provider faced three pressing challenges:
- Lack of Complete Visibility: With a rapidly expanding multi-cloud environment, the client struggled to understand the full scope of its cloud assets, serverless workloads, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Alert Fatigue and False Positives: Existing tools generated thousands of alerts, many of which were false positives or lacked correlation. The client’s security team had lost confidence in the accuracy and value of these detections.
- Regulatory Compliance and Data Protection: As a healthcare provider, the client needed to prioritize risks associated with sensitive patient data and demonstrate compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
Solution
Arctiq packaged a customized and comprehensive proposal leveraging Wiz Defend and Wiz Cloud , designed to address these challenges, eliminate overlap with the client’s existing legacy cloud security solutions and enhance overall coverage. This proposed solution enabled the client to maximize value from both their legacy and modernized tools during the transition.
During the proof of concept, Wiz was able to connect to all 3 cloud environments, without agents, to immediately provide full visibility into cloud assets, serverless functions, and Kubernetes clusters.
Shortly after the beginning of the proof of concept, thousands of disparate alerts seen in the legacy solution were correlated down to approximately twelve high- fidelity critical Wiz Issues, giving the client clear prioritization of the most important risks to address first. Accuracy of alerting and correlation, as well as robust yet clear reporting were key highlights of the proof of concept noted by the client.
