Xplore is a rural Canadian connectivity provider, delivering fixed wireless and fiber broadband to communities beyond the reach of conventional networks. Towers scattered across enormous distances generated a huge amount of data, but teams captured, managed, and reported it in different ways, relying heavily on spreadsheets and manual integrations.
When Xplore's new Chief Technology and Information Officer arrived, he brought a clear ambition: build a centralized data and AI platform for the enterprise and start evolving toward fully agentic workflows. He had built one before, at one of Canada's largest telecom operators, and had seen the business value it created. The vision was clear, but Xplore had no data engineering team, no established governance processes, and no platform to build on.
Arctiq was already a trusted partner from previous engagements. Rather than moving straight into AI, Arctiq and Xplore focused first on the foundation: governed data, clear ownership, and a scalable enterprise data platform built on Azure Databricks. The result was a platform business teams could use in plain language, without routing every request through technical teams.
AI readiness isn't about how quickly you can deploy a model. It's about whether you have the trusted data, governance, and operating model to turn AI into sustainable business value.
